A locomotive sander comprises a housing (3) with a vertical duct (4), communicating by one end face side with a branch pipe (5) for feeding sand, and by the opposite side, through an electrically operated shutoff valve with a mixing chamber (7) connected in its turn with a source (8) of compressed air and a branch pipe (9) for carrying out sand-air mixture. The valve is located in the zone of operation of the electromagnetic drive and has an elastic plate (11) secured on the housing (3) and carrying on the end a shutoff device (10) that periodically closes a measuring hole (6) of the vertical duct (4).
