The invention aims at a method of repairing a grinding chamber of a beater-wheel mill which is intended for grinding raw lignite and has a sealing strip encircling the front wall of the grinding chamber. The object involves a method in which, with workshop means, complete flatness of the front wall of the grinding chamber in the area of the seal is produced relative to the door of the grinding chamber and the dimensionally accurate resetting of the beater wheel relative to the front wall of the grinding chamber is guaranteed. According to the invention, after the coarse alignment of the front wall 12, a flame cut is made concentrically to the periphery of the beater wheel 7 on a circular line with a flame-cutting device centred on the beater-wheel shaft 4, and then an annular section 14, made completely flat in the workshop, of the front wall 12 is welded into the cut-out with an assembly device centred on the beater-wheel shaft 4.
