The secure cloak room facility prevents unauthorised removal of bags or clothing left there. A horizontal bar (1) is fixed at its ends to a wall or a support frame. Multiple rings (4) can slide along the bar. To secure an item a flexible cable (3) is passed through the ring and through a loop (9) on a carrier which holds the deposited item. The loop is closed by a lock (6), which can be released by a key (28). The items can be placed in carriers of suitable shape. Bags fit into short, wide carriers closed with a zip that has the cable passed through an eye on the zip closer to prevent unauthorised opening. Clothing can be hung from zipped bags with a hanger inside, and the zipper again locked by the cable. A master key can be provided to allow removal of suspect items by authorities.
