The bushing allows passage of an electrical conductor through the walls of a metal clad medium tension electrical device. The bushing is formed with a conical female part (2) made of an insulating material. This passes through a hole (1C) cut in the metal wall of the equipment. The flange at the outer end of the female part is clamped by nuts (5A) on bolts (4) distributed round the edge of the hole. A groove round the underside of the flange allows insertion of a sealing ring (2D). A conic male part (11) fits inside the female part. The male part is made of an insulating material and has a conductor (13) passing through its centre. The end of the conductor has a recess to fit over the end of the conductor (7) inside the equipment. A pair of flanges (16,17) clamps the male part to the outside of the enclosure.
