PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily remove foreign matters from the surface of a power cable insulating body by providing a polishing member having a circular arc-shaped surface at the tip made of the material same as or similar to the material of an insulating body for a power cable and a tool capable of grasping the polishing member and of rotating it at a high speed as a foreign matters removing jig. ;SOLUTION: A jig for removing foreign matters from the surface of a power cable insulating body is equipped with a polishing member 10 having a circular arc-shaped surface 10A at its tip made of the insulating body same as or similar to that of a power cable and a tool such as an electric motor 20 for grasping and rotating the polishing member 10 at a high speed. And the motor 20 is stored in a cylindrical plastic case 30 together with a battery, and the motor is rotated or stopped by a switch 40 provided on the surface of a plastic case 30. By removing foreign matters by using the foreign matters removing jig at the connections of the power cable, the foreign matters can be removed easily without giving damages to the surface of the power cable insulating body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
