PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save man power, time and cost with a simple small scale facility by cutting and lumbering at least two opposed upper and lower or right and left surfaces of raw timber in substantially flat surfaces in a lengthwise direction by relatively moving any of a cutter and the timber in the lengthwise direction of the timber. ;SOLUTION: A rotary cutter 2 having many cutting blades on its outer periphery is rotatably opposed to upper and lower or right and left sides of raw timber 1 to a transfer direction of the timber 1 transferable in a lengthwise direction of a feeding means 3 portably provided at an aggregate ground G of the timbers. The cutter 3 is mounted rotatably by a shaft 2b at the other end of a movable plate 2A pivotally secured at one end to a frame with a support shaft 2a as a center. An end of a cylinder rod of a cylinder C1 of a drive source is mounted at the plate 2. When the cylinder C1 is driven so that the rod is extended, the plate 2A is rotated with the shaft 2a as a center, and hence a cutting depth of the blade is regulated according to a thickness and cutting state of the timber 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
