PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance-measuring device whose space is narrow, by which a distance can be measured precisely up to a long distance and whose constitution is simple. ;SOLUTION: Luminous fluxes, from an object 11, which are emitted via two optical paths with parallaxes are received, two image signals corresponding to the respective luminous fluxes are generated, and the relative interval between the two image signals is detected. Then, by a CPU 15, a distance- measuring operation is performed to a virtual chart at a longer distance than a prescribed distance by combining image signals having the narrower interval between two images out of image signals at a time when a chart for adjustment of a prescribed pattern arranged at the prescribed distance so as to face a distance-measuring device 10 is observed, and a distance-measuring operation is performed to an actual chart at the prescribed distance by combining the image signals having the wider interval between the two images. On the basis of distance measured data with reference to the two obtained distances, adjusting data on the distance-measuring device is computed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
