BASE FABRIC FOR IMPACT PRINTER INK RIBBON AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an impact printer ink ribbon good in ink retainability, excellent in ink life, and having a new long life. ;SOLUTION: This base fabric for impact printer ink ribbons comprises an ink ribbon base fabric comprising polyamide multipfilaments, has a total water- absorbing speed of ≥50mm in the longitudinal and latitudinal directions of the base fabric, when measured in accordance with the JIS L-1096 water- absorbing speed B method, and further has a base fabric weft crimp rate of ≥3.5%. This method for producing the base fabric for the impact printer ink ribbons comprises subjecting a base fabric comprising polyamide multifilaments to a scouring process, a drying process and a heat-set process. Therein, a liquid flow scouring process is adopted as the scouring process, and a base fabric weft crimp rate is controlled to ≥3.5%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
