PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a nondefective ratio of cutting working by preventing generation of breakage and crack in a tube and generation of a defective of a feed dimension when a plurality of long size tubes such as quartz glass tubes which are arranged in parallel and are supported in the horizontal states on the circular arc recessed surface of a tube guide are transversely fed by prescribed lengths to the cutting location of a disc cutter and preventing generation of breakage and crack also at the time of a cutting. ;SOLUTION: On a carriage 5 of a feed device which transversely feeds a plurality of long size tubes 3 arranged in parallel on the circular arc recessed surface 4 of a tube guide 2 by performing a batch holding for the tubes 3 by a clamp mechanism 6, an elevating/lowering mechanism lifting up the long size tubes 3 held in a several millimeter order when the tubes 3 are transversely fed is provided. On the circular arc recessed surface 4 of the tube guide 2, a separator separating the long size tubes 3 arranged on the circular arc recessed surface 4 by prescribed numbers into two or more groups is provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
