PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject formed compact without scattering dust to the surroundings by carrying out the boring of a hole in a carbon black formed compact with a boring machine having specific functions. ;SOLUTION: This carbon black formed compact has a hole bored with a boring machine which comprises a motor shaft 4 of a motor 1 fastened onto a shaft of a drill 4 with a coupling 2 and is capable of preventing the side runout of the drill 4 and sealing a venting part. When the carbon black formed compact 9 is cut with the drill 4, a fracture protecting and a sealing part 15 is brought into contact with the surface to prevent the carbon black powder from scattering. A cover 5 is designed not to lower downwardly from a prescribed position with stoppers installed in supporting pins 6 for the cover 5 and the drill 4 has a hollow part 16 formed therein. A part ranging from a tip to a venting chamber is formed into a cavity part. When the carbon black formed compact 9 is cut with the drill 4, carbon powder is discharged from the cavity part through a disposing hole 8 for the carbon powder to the outside of the machine. Thereby, the carbon black formed compact 9 can be bored without scattering dust to the surroundings.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
