PRODUCTION OF CARBON BLACK FORMED COMPACT WITH BRIQUETTING MACHINE AND PRODUCTION OF PIGMENT FORMED COMPACT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently carry out the production of a carbon black formed compact by forming a carbon black powder with a briquetting machine. ;SOLUTION: A carbon black powder is formed with a briquetting machine, having two rotating rolls 1 and capable of forming the carbon black powder into a formed compact having a prescribed size. For example, the carbon black powder dropped from a powder charging chute 3 by gravity is press formed with the two porous rotating rolls 1 having recessed sites corresponding to one half of the formed compact shape opened at a regular interval on the peripheral parts of the rolls 1. A pressing pressure of a hydraulic cylinder 2 can automatically be regulated to provide a desired surface pressure. The formed compact is discharged from a discharging chute 4. The briquetting machine is capable of forming not only the carbon black but also a powder of other pigments (e.g. clay or Logwood Lake).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
