PRODUCTION OF CARBON BLACK FORMED COMPACT WITH TABLETING MACHINE AND PRODUCTION OF PIGMENT FORMED COMPACT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently carry out the production of a carbon black formed compact by forming a carbon black powder with a tableting machine. ;SOLUTION: A carbon black powder is press formed by using a tableting machine to produce a carbon black formed compact. A powder charging valve 1 is opened to pass the carbon black powder through a powder feed line 2 and fill the carbon black powder in a powder filling chamber 9. After the filling, air in the powder is removed with a vacuum reserve deaerating cylinder 4 to continue the venting with a deaerating line 3. The powder filling chamber 9 is then moved to the left and right and further moved to the right. A moving punch 8 is moved in the right direction to pressurize the carbon black powder. The powder filling chamber 9 is subsequently moved to the right and the moving punch 8 is moved to the left to thereby afford the objective carbon black formed compact. The tableting machine is capable of forming not only the carbon black powder but also a powder of other pigments (e.g. barytes or cochineal lake).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
