PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable non-destructive test and non-control measurement and moreover, achieve a higher longitudinal a magnetic field to a long-sized superconductive wire in the longitudinal direction thereof at each specified length section thereof. ;SOLUTION: Firstly, a superconductive wire 9 for measurement is intermittently fed into a liquid nitrogen container 10 at each certain fixed length section along the length thereof through a feed drive mechanism 7, a wire feed mechanism 8 and metal pullets 11-12. Then, a magnetic field is applied to a fixed length section along the length of the superconductive wire 9 for measurement fed intermittently into the liquid nitrogen container 10 by a combination of a power source 17, an electromagnet 18 and an iron core 19. A magnetism generated is sent between the iron cores 19 and 19 mounted facing each other on upper and lower sides of the superconductive wire 9 for measurement, where a magnetic field is applied to the superconductive wire 9 for measurement. This enables non-destructive and non-conduct and moreover, easier and highly accurate measurement of a critical current for a superconductive wire achieving a usefulness for the industry.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
