PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid pressure cylinder with a cushioning mechanism excellent in shock cushioning capability by the improvement of sealable properties. ;SOLUTION: This fluid pressure cylinder 1 is provided with a piston 15 driven based on the supply of fluid to and discharge of it from pressure action chambers 17, 18 partitioned inside the cylinder and cylinder covers 5, 6. A ring- shaped damping body 21 having elasticity is arranged between the piston 15 and the cylinder covers 5, 6. The shock of the piston 15 is cushioned by the resistance force of the fluid in the fluid sump S1 formed by the cushioning body 21 and the elastic return force of the cushioning body 21 themselves. The cushioning body 21 is installed on the piston 15 for partitioning the pressure action chambers 17, 18.
