PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install or change a desired electrode to a welding machine without regulating the position of respective electrodes by installing or removing a shank and shank holder to or from a corresponding platen. ;SOLUTION: In the case of installing an electrode unit 10 to the resistance welding machine 1, respective electrodes 15, 17 are installed to the resistance welding machine 1 without regulating the position of respective electrodes 15, 17 by fixing a base plate 11 to a fixed side platen 2 and connecting the shank 16 to a movable side platen 3. At the time of using, the platen 3 is descended up to the platen 2 to clamp an electric wire between both electrodes 15, 17 by driving a press device 6 of the welding machine 1 with a foot switch provided in the welding machine 1 and the electric current is supplied during a prescribed time period, whereby, the resistance welding is executed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
