VIBRATION PROOFING STRUCTURE FOR AERIAL CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb the vibration of an aerial cable laid from a bridge body to a support column by providing a damping material to be fitted onto the aerial cable within the protecting tube of a cable fixing part. ;SOLUTION: In an obliquely laid bridge lock provided on a river, a number of aerial cables 1 are obliquely laid substantially bisymmetrically, and a bridge body 13 is suspended and held by these aerial cables 1. In the part for fixing the aerial cable 1 to a support structure or the bridge body 13, the end part of the aerial cable 1 is fixed to the bridge body 13 by a fixing plate 3 and a fixture 2. A damping material 5 is set within the protecting pipe 4 of a cable fixing part buried in the bridge body 13 so as to be fitted onto the aerial cable 1. Thus, the aerial cable 1 laid from the bridge body 13 to a support column is vibrated by a vibration by wind, earthquake, traveling vehicle, but the damping material 5 works so as to absorb this vibration and transmit only the stretching force of the cable 1 to the fixture 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
