PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a calcium silicate molding product excellent in all of lightweight properties, heat resistance and mechanical strength and further cracking and warpage resistances when dried. ;SOLUTION: This low-specific gravity and high-strength calcium silicate molding product is obtained by molding an aqueous slurry containing an amphoteric water-soluble polymer, comprising a main chain and a side chain and having 50,000-5,000,000 molecular weight of the whole and 5-1,000cP viscosity (measured by using a 5% aqueous solution with a Brookfield type viscometer at 25°C) in an amount of 1-50 pts.wt. solid content based on 100 pts.wt. solid content of the aqueous slurry consisting essentially of a calcium silicate hydrate and an alkaline earth metallic or an aluminum-based water-soluble metallic compound in an amount of 0.03-0.12 molar ratio expressed in terms of its metal based on 100 pts.wt. solid content of the amphoteric water-soluble polymer and water and drying the resultant molding product.
