PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the vibrations and noises by applying a three-dimensional bias tooth flank modification in which no contact oceans at the time of engagement on a tooth flank other than a full contact line area. ;SOLUTION: This gear is constituted so as to lengthen its face width in order to transmit high load upon having a reference tooth flank making an involute curve a tooth profile. In this case, a full-contact line area F of integral- fold width of a face-width direction contact line pitch Ps is left behind on the tooth flank of the tooth profile, and the tooth flank other than this area F is formed on a curved surface continuing from a mesh starting part 2 up to the full contact line area F. Likewise, the tooth flank is formed by the curved surface continuing a range from this full contact line area F to a mesh ending part 3, and a three-dimensional bias tooth flank modification different in a tooth profile form by a tooth trace directional position is applied to both these curved surfaces, forming two tooth flank modified areas Es and Ee.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
