PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treating device for economically treating garbage without the need of heating equipment. SOLUTION: A garbage treating microbial bed is that which includes bacteria for decomposing garbage mixed therein. A garbage treating device 10 is that in which the microbial bed having a fibrous raw material containing at least one of organic compounds as a main component is used to decompose garbage, and is provided with a mixing tank 26 in which the microbial bed and garbage are thrown to mix them and an agitating means 18 for agitating the microbial bed and the garbage in the mixing tank 26.
