PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new complex useful as an oxidation reaction catalyst, etc., from Mn²⁺ and a ligand such as N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-N- methylamine. ;SOLUTION: A bis- or tris-(μ-oxo)-dimanganese complex of formula I {Ac is a 2-8C acyl; (a) is 1, 2, 3; (b) is 0, when (a) is 2 or 3, or (b) is 2, when (a) is 1; (x) is 2 or 3 which is the number of the positive charges; A is a singly or doubly negative-charged anion; (y) is the number of the anions A required for balancing with the positive charges; L is a ligand of formula II [R is a 1-12C alkyl, a 5-10C cycloalkyl, phenyl, NH₂, OH, COOH, etc.; R¹ is H, the same group as R, a halogen, CN, etc.; (m), (n) are each an integer of 0, 1-4] or formula III [(g) is 2, 3]}.
