PURPOSE:To enhance sharpness, color development performance, and gradation of the photosensitive material by using a silver iodobromide emulsion specified in X-ray diffraction signals. CONSTITUTION:This photographic sensitive material is coated with at least one kind of silver iodobromide emulsion composed mainly of twin grains and the emulsion has continuous signals in the X-ray diffraction method using the CuKalpha ray as a source (420Angstrom ) in the range of =1.5 deg. of the diffraction angle (2theta), the maximum intensity of the signals being 0.13, and it is preferred to use an emulsion having one peak, and further, an emulsion having silver iodide localized in the grain.
