The invented motor vehicle door latch (1) has a pivot latch (2) and a blocking pawl (3) that can be displaced through the mediation of an outer actuating lever(4) to release the pivot latch (2), and lock-out mechanism (5) comprising a mechanism for preventing disengagement during excessive acceleration. In the motor vehicle latch (1), there is slidably mounted in the direction of acceleration a blocking level (7), which can be displaced during excessive acceleration to lockout the blocking pawl (3).
