A sound and vibration-damping stirrup connects beam, profiles or similar in a system of joists, particularly an under roof, and has devices for fixing it to an upper beam (1) and components (12) for supporting a lower beam (2) suspended below the upper beam with the stirrup (3) between them. The devices for fixing the stirrup include a component (7,8) for hooking firmly onto a flange (4) in the upper beam.
