Torque transmission through stepless variable gear ratio - employs cage held biconical compress between driving and driven faces, engagement radii/transmitted RPM being altered by reaction based axial advance of cage
The transmission (T) employs biconical couplers (39) held over shafts (37) in cone holder cage (31) to transmit the power from input shaft (23) to output shaft (22). The biconical couplers contact the driving face (29) and the driven face (30) together. The cage is rotationally constrained through roller (36) sliding axially in guiding groove (41) under force of reaction, as the load torque varies. Centrifugal mechanism comprising weights (55) contacting the driving and driven faces (261,541) acts in unison along with the cone holder cage.
