GENE THERAPY USING GENE FUSION FOR GENETIC OR ACQUIRED DISORDERS

The present invention is related generally to theconstruction of fusion genes. More particularly, thepresent invention is related to the construction of afusion gene comprising a coding sequence for a selectablemarker linked by fusion to another coding sequence, theproduct of which is desired to be expressed in recipientcells. Gene therapy utilizing an MDR1 linked fusioncoding sequence has been disclosed. Adenosine deaminaseactivity has been introduced into cells using MDR1 linkedfusion gene.
