A centrifugal separator for freeing a liquid from particles suspended therein and being heavier than the liquid has a rotor (2), which surrounds a separation chamber (20) having a substantially larger axial extension than its radial extension. The rotor (2) has in the separation chamber (20) two or more conveyor screws (29) for axial transportation of separated solid particles and, also, separation discs (21) for creation of small separation distances for the particles.
