Semi-buried substation with dismountable and lockable operation walkway

The external terminal post has a concrete casing (12), divided into a buried connection area and an upper equipment section above. The lower area extends forward, with a paving cover (24), detachable for access at about ground level. This cover, of single thickness (32), is reinforced by a rear beam (34) and a front return retaining lip (36). The rear beam has fixings (40) for mounting screws (42), locking the cover to the casing inside. The retaining lip engages in a front casing groove (46), locking the cover front at pavement level. This cover may be of sheet metal, electrically earthed, with non skid treads and the beam welded to its rear end forming a watertight sill. The cover may slope to the front, for drainage. IMAGE
