The invention concerns a method and device for controlling the inclination of at least one carriage body in a railway vehicle comprising at least one carriage body, the inclination being produced by at least one drive unit. A motor reference torque for a given number of vehicle running-gear sets with at least one electrical inclination drive is defined in such a way that the torsion in the carriage body is a minimum. Thus the torsion in carriage bodies inclined by electrically driven actuators is kept to a minimum even in difficult operating conditions.
