The method uses a number of information carriers or prompt cards corresponding to each character on the keyboard of a typewriter or computer. Alternatively the information is shown on screen using software that organises the hierarchy of the exercises. Each individual information card carries information corresponding to only one keyboard character including at least position and finger movement to reach the key. Other additional information can be included such as diagrams of the keyboard and diagrams showing finger movement. The memory cards relating to the keyboard are stored in a hierarchical sequence and the student follows a sequence of cards in order to learn the relevant information relating to each key on the keyboard. In this way information is learnt until it is error free and different card sequences can be used for revision.
