The crusher has an elongated crusher comb (9) with heads (10) spaced so that the crusher chisels (7) engage between the heads. The heads may be flat and laminated or in the form of circular segments, their spacing ensuring that the drum (5) chisel tips engage the centre of the head spacing intervals. The centres of the heads (10) are offset relative to the comb base (16) and the interval between drum and comb can be adjusted, with the chisels being arranged in spiral formation on the crusher drum. The comb can be divided into exchangeable single sections and the side opposite the comb is fitted with a wear strip (6) composed of exchangeable parts (22).
