Waste water treatment process and assembly for remote areas

A process to treat an intermittent flow of municipal and industrial waste water has a preliminary stage and a secondary stage, comprises the novelties that: (a) in periods of reduced water supply, one or more of the treatment stages are emptied and shut down; (b) a charge of the waste from these stages is retained, holding a colony of the microbiological life forms normally resident in the respective stage; (c) the colony of micro biological life forms is maintained by a supply of nutrient and oxygen; (d) waste water from the emptied biological treatment stages is surrendered to the stage or stages remaining in operation and treated; (e) the quantity of water taken from the stages to be emptied is determined by the capacity in the remaining operative biological stages; (f) water thus treated is discharged as normal to the drains; (g) in periods of limited or no incoming flow, the process and assembly are maintained in a closed or almost close-circuit mode. Also claimed is an assembly to carry out the process.
