The method uses a component W with a recess, and a component B with a raised portion. The first component (W) has a fixed W coordinate system. An axis of this system coincides with an axis of rotation of the component. The second component (B) has a fixed B coordinate system. The method involves calculating the coordinates of the points lying on the sphere in a first coordinate system fixed relative to an output element (K). The coordinates of the output element (K) are calculated in the W coordinate system by at least one transformation of the K coordinate system. The output element is rolled on the spherical surface to determine the complex geometry of the first component (W) in the W coordinate system. The method further involves a back transformation of the points of the first component in the B coordinate system by simultaneously rotating the two components to determine a curve of the point with the smallest raised portion value. From this the curved surface of the second component B is defined.
