In a vehicle, especially a utility vehicle with a differential lock, the coupling claws (11) of which are automatically released by a spring (13) in the absence of drive torque, there is a modified ABS-ASC (ANTILOCK/ANTISLIP CONTROL) system in the logic of which the ASC valve (1) is used as the actuating valve for the compressed-air cylinder (5) used to engage the differential lock. The ASC or actuating valve acts on triggering an ASC process and on recognising a difference in adhesion between the vehicle's right and left-hand driving wheels in such a way that below a pressure threshold the ASC valve (1) can be actuated according a cycle to effect the ordinary ASC control until, when two operating conditions are met simultaneously, the ASC valve (1) is fully engaged as the actuating valve in order to engage the differential lock.
