The reactor/mixer comprises two or more parallel shafts (2,2') turning in the same sense, on which are mounted axially spaced, not necessarily circular, discs (3,3') fitted with scrapers (4,4') on their peripheries and running inside a housing. All surfaces of the scrapers are cleaned mechanically. Outward facing surfaces of the scrapers have a convex radial section and are cleaned by the housing or the shaft or scrapers of the other rotor. Inward facing surfaces have a concave radial section and are cleaned by the scrapers of the other rotor. Leading edges of the scrapers form angles with the surfaces they clean which, when scrapers clean scrapers, are 60 degrees , and pref. obtuse, and, when scrapers clean the housing, are obtuse.
