P The invention provides a friction lining (10) of generally annular flat shape, intended to equip a device implementing friction in a liquid medium such as, more particularly, a clutch or brake disc, in particular of automatic gearbox or associated therewith, a manually controlled gearbox synchronization ring or cone, of the type produced from a friction material constituted by a fiber mat impregnated with a thermosetting resin which, after a step final baking, has a porous structure with communicating cells, and of the type in which the method of manufacturing the friction lining comprises a step of molding and cooking in a pressure mold, so that the lining (12, 22 ) has different and controlled porosity zones. /P
