CULTURE MEDIUM FOR DIAGNOSING TRICHOMONIASIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable culture medium capable of simply and surely diagnosing the infection with a trichomonad and scarcely putrefying or changing the quality and having a long duration of available period (preservation period) by adding a specific oxidation-reduction indicator to a culture medium substrate for diagnosing trichomoniasis. ;SOLUTION: This culture medium capable of changing the color thereof by a reduction in oxidation-reduction potential of a culture solution according to the growth of a trichomonad is obtained by adding an oxidation-reduction indicator changing its color within the range of -350 to -500 mV to a culture medium substrate for diagnosing trichomoniasis. The oxidation-reduction indicator represented by the formula in an amount of 0.0005-0.02 wt.% is preferably added.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
