DISTURBANCE OF COMMUNICATION AMONG HARMFUL INSECT BELONGING TO SUBFAMILY TORTRICIDAE OF FAMILY TORTRICIDAE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for disturbing any communication among hardly controlled harmful insects belonging to the subfamily Tortricidae of the family Tortricidae while showing a long-term disturbing effect and controlling effect, by using a communication disturbing agent containing a specific composition as a main component. ;SOLUTION: This method is conducted by using a communication disturbing agent containing a composition, as a main component, of (A) 40 to 97 wt.% of Z-11-tetradecenyl acetate and (B) 3 to 60 wt.% of mixture of e-11-tetradecenyl acetate and z-9-tetradecenyl acetate in the ratio of (5 to 95) to (95 to 5) and thereby disturbing a communication among the harmful insects belonging to the subfamily Tortricidae of the family Tortricidae and having Z-11-tetradecenyl acetate as a sex pheromone. It is preferable to use a communication disturbing agent comprising a composition, as a main component, comprising 90 to 99 wt.% of composition of the components A and B and (C) 1 to 10 wt.% of Z-9- dodecenyl acetate or (D) 1 to 10 wt.% of 10-methyl-dodecyl acetate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
