OPHTHALMIC COMPOSITION FOR SOFT CONTACT LENS, WETTING ENHANCEMENT OF SOFT CONTACT LENS AND ADSORPTION SUPPRESSION OF TERPENOID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition by using terpenoid(s) as active ingredient to enhance the wettability of a soft contact lens, in its turn suppress the decrease in the water content of the lens and suppress development of dryness and foreign body sensations. SOLUTION: This ophthalmic composition contains, as active ingredient, terpenoid(s), pref. at least one kind selected from menthol, borneol and camphor; wherein it is preferable that this composition is in the form of an eye drop, or in the form of a liquid containing a polyoxyethylene sorbitan ester when to be used, and also adjusted to =pH 5.5 when to be used.
