PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply recovering gallium portion from precipitate containing a gallium compound, an abrasive grain and a cutting oil in remarkably concentrated state. ;SOLUTION: This method is composed of a 1st step for obtaining a dried material by heating the precipitate at a temp. below the pyrolytic temp. of the gallium compound to remove the cutting oil from the precipitate containing the gallium compound, the abrasive grain and the cutting oil and a 2nd step for recovering fine powder by classifying the dried material into fine powder containing mainly gallium portion and coarse powder containing mainly the abrasive grain to remove the abrasive grain.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
