PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering a gallium content from a precipitate contg. a gallium compd., abrasive grains and cutting oil in such a manner that it is easily and remarkably concentrated. ;SOLUTION: This method is composed of a primary stage in which a precipitate is dispersed into an organic solvent to dissolve cutting oil in the precipitate, and, thereafter, solid-liq. separation is executed to obtain a solid matter, a secondary stage in which, for removing the cutting oil and organic solvent remaining in the solid matter, the solid matter is heated to the temp. less than the thermal decomposing temp. of a gallium compd. to obtain a dry matter, a third stage in which the obtd. dry matter is pulverized and a fourth stage in which the pulverized dry matter for removing the abrasive grains is classified into fine powder mainly contg. the gallium content and coarse powder mainly contg. the abrasive grains, and the fine powder is recovered. By this method, since the cutting oil is removed from the precipitate in the primary and secondary stages, and the abrasive grains are removed in the fourth stage, the gallium content can easily and remarkably be concentrated from the precipitate, and, moreover, since, even in the case a closely stuck aggregate is formed in the secondary stage, it is pulverized in the third stage, the recovery of the gallium does not reduce in the fourth stage.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
