PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance step drive control using a low frequency operation pulse train by setting an inner step, as a constant, per shaft rotation value of a motor and determining a conversion coefficient equal to a value obtained by dividing the inner step by the number of full steps per shaft rotation value. ;SOLUTION: A microcontroller 30 being implemented as a computer software detects each input pulse for operating a stepping motor M and the input pulse is multiplied by a conversion coefficient of step scale to produce a new inner step. A motor shaft moving amount based on the current and final positions of the motor is then converted into an inner step and the converted number of inner steps is divided by the conversion coefficient of step scale. The integer part of quotient is then multiplied by an angular constant equal to a value divided by the inner step constant thus determining a command angle for operating the motor. A torque required for the motion of the motor shaft is determined from a reference table 33 based on the command angle thus driving the motor shaft.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
