PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To emergently cope with the occurrence of sudden cracking and opening in the hull of a ship including a tanker. ;SOLUTION: When cracking or opening occurs in the hull 3 of a ship 2 including a tanker the cracking or opening 4 is covered with an given size of emergency treatment tool 1 of water-proof covering sheet material and the water-proof covering material is tensed at both ends around the body of the hull 3 with ropes 10, 12 to block the cracking or opening 4 therewith. Specially, the water-proof covering material is formed with a facing material and a backing material overlapped with each other and a given thickness of elastic cushion is internally mounted between the facing material and the backing material to elastically and closely block the cracking or opening 4 in the hull 3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
