PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide heat insulating material, a work execution method thereof and heat insulating structure safe, excellent in heat insulating performance and facilitating execution because of being easily deformed along the outer surface of a heat insulated member such as piping or mechanical equipment. ;SOLUTION: In this heat insulating structure, heat insulating material 101 is composed of first sheet-like heat insulating material 1 formed by providing an organic fiber web layer 12 on one face of metallic foil 11 and providing an adhesive layer 13 on the other face, and second sheet-like heat insulating material 2 formed as a separate body from the sheet-like heat insulating material 1 and provided with an organic fiber web layer 22 on one face of metallic foil 21. The first sheet-like heat insulating material 1 is stuck to the outer surface of piping, a machine, or the like with which a low temperature fluid comes in contact, and then covered with the second sheetlike heat insulating material 2 with the organic fiber web layer 22 placed inside. The organic fiber web layers 12, 22 of the first and second sheet-like heat insulating material 1, 2 therefore come in contact with each other to form heat insulating structure 103 with a series of air layers 102.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
