PURPOSE: To reduce the occurrence of a phenomenon which may result in an error, such as a potential error, etc., by adding a specific compound to a potassium ion selecting layer as a sodium ion carrier together with a potassium ion carrier. ;CONSTITUTION: The ion activity measuring instrument is provided with an upper frame body 201, lower frame body 202, and three kinds of ion selecting electrodes 203N (for sodium ions), 203K (for potassium ions), and 203C (for chlorine ions). In the electrode 203K, a substrate, silver layer, sliver chloride layer, electrolyte layer in which crystals of sodium chloride having an average crystal size of 8μm are tightly developed without any binder, and potassium ion selecting layer are integrally formed in this order.
