SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING PLURAL DIALOG BOXES ON WINDOW DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically display a dialog box without clicking a mouse button or making a key stroke on a keyboard by placing a pointer above an object to be selected and moving the pointer down across the object, and thus opening the dialog box. ;SOLUTION: A pointer display control system 17 includes a pointer control subsystem 18, a pointer position acquisition subsystem 20, a pointer position message generator 22, and a message display control subsystem 24. The pointer position acquisition subsystem 20 sends an object selected by a user, i.e., a word to the pointer position message generator 22. According to size information supplied from the message generator 22, the pointer position acquisition subsystem 20 selects a proper area for displaying a dialog box in a window and opens the dialog box.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
