PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a I type allergy inhibitor capable of being applied to foods, beverages, medicines, etc., by using a specific compound such as nucleic acid as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This I type allergy inhibitor contains one or more kinds of substances selected from nucleotides, nucleosides, nucleic acids, and bases composing the substances as active ingredients. The addition of the active ingredient to foods, medicines, etc., enables to change the balance of Th1-Th2 cells into a state where the Th1 is dominant, and thereby enables to inhibit the production of an antigen-specific IgE antibody liable to induce the Th2 in a dominant state and treat and prevent the I type allergic diseases such as atopic dermatitis, asthma and pollinosis. The inhibitor can enhance resistance to HIV, cancers and bacterial infections and prevent and treat the diseases. The bases are preferably adenine, etc., and the nucleosides are preferably uridine, etc.
