PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rapid curing stable adhesive by preparing a first part containing a (meth)acrylate monomer or oligomer, (meth)acrylic acid, maleic acid, a hydroperoxide, a source of ferric ions, etc., and a second part containing a substituted dihydropyridine. ;SOLUTION: The first part of a two part structural adhesive contains (meth) acrylate monomer or (meth)acrylated oligomer, a hydroxyl-containing (meth) acrylate monomer and optionally 0.5-5 wt.%, based on the first part, (meth) acrylic acid, 1-20 wt.% maleic acid, optionally an additive selected among a thickener, a thixotropant and an adhesion accelerator and 0.25-1.5 wt.% hydroperoxide (e.g. cumene hydroperoxide) and a source of ferric ions. To chelate transition metal ions, a chelating agent added thereto, and the mixture is heated to 40-70°C. The second part contains a substituted dihydropyridine.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
