PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the high-speed and economic automatic developing machine small in fog and stable in processing characteristics and small in the discharge of a waste solution and adapted to the environment by providing means for controlling an amount of a processing solution to be spread and means for spreading it. ;SOLUTION: The means 20 for spreading the processing solution is provided with a processing solution tank 25 for storing a first constituent solution (a), and the means 26 for feeding the first solution (a) is provided with a slit-shaped coater and the first solution (a) is fed onto the emulsion side of the photosensitive material P, and then, a second constituent solution (b) is likewise fed onto the emulsion side by a tube pump (BP) and the second solution (b) feeding means 28 of the slit-shaped coater. An amount of the processing solutions to be spread is controlled to 5-100 ml per 1 m² of the photosensitive material, preferably, 10-60 ml from the view point of efficiency, and further especially, 15-50 ml.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
