PURPOSE:To facilitate the design correction of Chinese character font by using a parameter value of affine conversion matrix and a parameter value of the affine conversion matrix for defining the size, angle and position of 'transfiguration' element formed of 'picture' stroke to form the Chinese character font. CONSTITUTION:A data memory 1, input section 2, picture drawing section 3 and output section 4 are provided. 'Picture' stroke primitive of qualitative normalized outline data of the 'picture' stroke, linear data of the 'picture' stroke, a parameter value of affine conversion matrix for defining the size, angle and position of 'picture' stroke and a parameter value of the affine conversion matrix for defining the size, angle and position of 'transfiguration' element formed of the 'picture' stroke are used to form Chinese character font. Thus, data amount of the Chinese font is substantially reduced so that the capacity of font memory can be reduced and the design correction of the Chinese character or the like is effectively facilitated.
