PURPOSE:To reduce the data volume and the memory capacity for KANJI (Chinese character) font generation and to perform parametric editing of KANJI font. CONSTITUTION:When parameters of stroke edges, accent edges, and line thickness of a stroke outline and pattern numbers Si and Ai are given, stroke edges are generated by a stroke generator 200 and accent edges are generated by an accent generator 201 to obtain the objective stroke outline. At the time of radical or character synthesis, only stroke edges are converted in accordance with an affine parameter by an affine conversion part 203. The other parameters are not converted.
